Bruce Cameron , a father is blind-sided when his two sweet little girls turn into teenagers with hormones raging and a logic all their own. His only solace his is 13-year-old son whom he still manages to understand.  John Ritter stars as Paul Hennessy, a loving, rational dad who can't quite figure out how his sweet little daughters morphed into hormonally-challenged, incomprehensible teenagers. News:

8/5/07: In case you have not read our DVD Review of the first season DVD, then click HERE! It is certainly a good set but wish we had more extras! The DVD is out this Tuesday, so if you have not bought it yet, click HERE to buy it. Please buy it so we can be assured of all three seasons on DVD.

5/17/07: Two pieces of news today!  First, fresh off from our update last week that the show is coming to DVD in August, today ABC Family announced that the show has been picked-up by them for rerun play starting June 12!  The show will air weekday evenings at 6:00pm & 6:30pm ET/PT!  What wonderful news!  Click HERE for further details. In other news, Kaley Cuoco will be back on network television on CBS in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory.  After 8 Simple Rules ended in 2005, Kaley went on to co-star on Charmed's last season, she also taped a pilot for ABC last fall but it didn't make it, and earlier this year she starred in the Lifetime movie Fat Like Me.  For details on Kaley's new sitcom, which will air Mondays at 8:30 pm ET/PT on CBS this September, click HERE.

5/11/07: It's been a long time since our last update I know, but one of the best news ever has come!  The First Season will come on DVD in August!  August 14 is the tentative date. All 28 first season episodes will be there and as of now just bloopers for extras, but we will let you know if there is anything else. Cover art is found above. The set will be retailed at 23.99 but you may order it cheaper on Amazon.  Please pre-order today, by clicking HERE!

9/15/06: Today is the last day for the show on Daytime WB.  The WB becomes The CW next week.  Let's hope the show returns to the airwaves at some point.

1/2/06: The show will start airing in reruns starting today on Daytime WB.  Weekdays at 4 & 4:30 p.m

7/10/05: I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and is continuing to watch encores of 8 Simple Rules on ABC. The ratings has been OK, usually 2nd place in its slot and the highest rated sitcom of the night. This Friday ABC will encore the most popular episode of the season, "Secrets" - so make sure everyone catches that! Now, to some wonderful news! 8 Simple Rules is heading to syndication! The WB is creating a new afternoon block replacing Kids' WB in January 2006. 8 Simple Rules will be airing in it! Full details:
The WB Afternoon Block
MONDAY THRU FRIDAY
JANUARY 2006
3:00 PM ER
4:00 PM 8 Simple Rules...
4:30 PM 8 Simple Rules...

SEPTEMBER 2006
3:00 PM TBD
4:00 PM Reba
4:30 PM Reba

So, we will have 8SR in reruns from January-September AT LEAST. If it does well, here is what will happen:
It would either be renewed with The WB afternoon or taken into syndication, according to Buena Vista Television Distribution President Janice Marinelli. But if 8SR in early fringe performs decently airing in pattern on WB affiliates, Marinelli could have some interesting options: Either put it on the shelf for awhile at The WB Afternoon or seek better time periods than it would have gotten otherwise in syndication.

5/17/05: ABC announced its schedule for the 2005-06 season today, and unfortunately 8 Simple Rules is not a part of it. It is very heartbreaking and surprising that they renewed Less Than Perfect for mid-season, but not us. Nevertheless, we are very fortunate that we had 3 marvelous seasons on the air. Hopefully now we can get the show on DVD and in reruns, probably more likely for cable. ABC is still slated to air the show in summer reruns, starting May 27 at 8:00pm. Please tune in so we can bring the best ratings for the night, and to let ABC know they made a mistake. 8 Simple Rules may be gone, but this site will remain updated with news and updates.

4/19/05: The season finale, "Ditch Day" was third in its timeslot overall with 5.26 million viewers and fourth in its slot among adults 18-49. While that is not a good way to finish the season, the sitcom was still the highest rated show on TGIF that night. The encore of Pamela Anderson's second episode had 4.98 million viewers. The episodes came in at #74 and #80 for the week of April 11-17. Let's hope and pray 8 Simple Rules returns next fall. Stay tuned here on May 17 for details on that. For now, catch Kaley on The View all this week and watch E! on Sunday night (8-9PM ET/PT) as the True Hollywood Story of John Ritter premieres, with interviews with Kaley, Amy, Martin and Katey.

4/12/05: "The Sleepover" was third place in its timeslot overall with 5.94 million viewers and second in its slot among adults 18-49. The rerun of "Freaky Friday" was also third in its slot overall with 5.65 million viewers and second in adults 18-49. The episodes came in at #69 and #74 for the week of April 4-10.
